We were interested in examining the different qualities of concrete as a building material - in particular, its static tendencies and its rigid geometry.
ReplyDeleteIn "The concrete curtain", concrete was cast in rough moulds onto a movable rebar system. We were excited to see concrete used as a fluid textile.
The cast tile was an experiment in surface texture and deformation. We used different drill paths and end mills to deform the simple extruded geometry and create various surface textures.
